Dr. Fiona Lemmens: Vice Chair & Clinical Director - Urgent and Emergency Care

I’m responsible for…
I am a GP partner at Aintree Group Practice with an interest in women’s health. My work for the CCG includes being Clinical Director of Urgent and Emergency Care and Clinical Lead for the Hospital Services strand of Healthy Liverpool.

My career began in
I graduated from Aberdeen University in 1992 and I have been a GP at Aintree Park Group Practice since 1997. I was elected to NHS Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group in 2012.

I like coming to work/my role because
Having two roles makes my work very varied. At the practice I am able to make a difference to individual patients and I enjoy the role of family doctor; often knowing three or more generations of the same family. The CCG work means I can make a difference for all the patients in the city. The Hospitals element of the Healthy Liverpool programme is exciting and I hope it will improve care for patients in Liverpool for many years to come.

Outside of work I
I am kept busy with my three sons and often spend the weekend at the side of a football pitch. Under their influence, I have now learned to enjoy watching Liverpool Football Club play.
