Dr. Fiona Ogden-Forde: Clinical Lead for Alcohol and Healthy Ageing

I’m responsible for...
I am the Governing Body lead for alcohol and the Healthy Ageing programme. Both projects are joint working with Liverpool City Council, as part of Healthy Liverpool.
I've worked across most of Liverpool as a sessional GP however I'm now based at Robson Street where I am the GP lead.

My career began in...
At the age of nine I announced that I was going to be a doctor. I came to study medicine in  Liverpool in 1984 and have never left! I graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1989 and have enjoyed a varied career since then. I spent many years working in A&E before deciding that general practice would be more suited for combining family life with work life. After completing my GP training I spent 6 months in Public Health at North Cheshire as part of the public health response to the HCBD gas issue in Weston. I then returned to general practice as I missed patient contact and having been working there ever since.

I like coming to work/my role because...
I feel that I can make a difference to the health of people in Liverpool and will do so, by working alongside colleagues in the health sector, the social sector and the voluntary sector.

Outside of work I…
I am married and have 4 children. I love cooking, especially using Yotam Ottolenghi’s recipes. I love reading gruesome crime novels on holidays, and often box-set binge TV series, especially Game of Thrones. I've recently learnt to crochet and probably spend too much money on wool.
