Moira Cain: Clinical Nurse

I’m responsible for...
I’m Clinical Nurse on the Governing Body where I am responsible for nurse education and non-medical prescribing. I also lead on continuing professional development for Nurses' and support the CCG's agenda for patient and public engagement.

My career began in...
I qualified as a Nurse in 1989 before going on to complete my midwifery training at Fazakerley hospital. During my time there I coordinated and hosted the "Antenatal Education Programme".  Currently, I'm a Practice Nurse at Brownlow Group Practice three days a week and nurse lead at the CCG two days a week.

I like coming to work/my role because...
I originally wanted to be a nurse as I wanted to help people and make a difference and that hasn’t changed. Being part of Liverpool CCG's Governing Body is an opportunity to get decisions right for the people of Liverpool and support them to improve their health.

Outside of work I…
I enjoy pilates and zumba. I’ve got three children, a retired husband and a dog called Paisley Bob who keep me very busy. I’m also taking part in the workplace challenge at Liverpool CCG where we record the steps we walk; recently we “walked” to Rio De Janeiro. You can follow me on Twitter @moiracain.
