My career began in…

I am the Executive Director responsible for education, visitor engagement and community participation at National Museums Liverpool. My role involves guiding a team of senior managers responsible for growing cultural engagement across the Liverpool city region. I maintain an extensive national and international network of education, museum, health and social care partnerships, providing learning opportunities for 850 regional schools; engagement with 3m plus museum visitors; and a far reaching community well-being and participation programme.

I like coming to work/my role because…

I am delighted to be joining the LCCG Governing Body, as Lay Member for Patient and Public Participation. I feel privileged to be joining a notable regional health network wholeheartedly believing and operating for the benefit of the community through a mission of inclusiveness. Thank you for choosing me, I will work hard to support you!

My greatest achievement is…

In January 2015, I was acknowledged by HRH Queen Elizabeth II and awarded an MBE (Member of The British Empire). This was for my role in leading House of Memories - a multi-award-winning dementia awareness programme which is making a difference to people living with dementia, their carers, families and communities. By 2018 more than 60,000 people benefited from the programme with 30,000 digital users - which continues to expand across the UK and globally in USA and South East Asia.
