Kenneth Perry: Lay Member for Patient and Public Engagement

I’m responsible for…
Providing challenge and support to senior staff as they seek to ensure the best possible health service for the people of Liverpool. In particular I will seek assurance and reassurance around performance and that the views of the public in general and patients in particular are properly considered.

My career began in…
As a YTS trainee in the Housing Department at Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council in 1982.

I like coming to work/my role because…
The health of the people of this city matters. We will not achieve the ambitions for this place whilst so many of its citizens suffer avoidable health inequalities. Being able to play a small part in helping with this important work is what brings me to this role. I hope to serve well.

Outside of work I…
Watch football, volunteer on a number of Boards, go to the gym when I can, walk my dog, spend time with my daughters, listen to live music, collect vinyl records and enjoy a real ale every now and again.
